St Peter's Catholic Primary School Lytham News's Football Success!<p>Our newly formed girl&#39;s football team made their debut on Thursday 5th October.&nbsp; A new Girl&#39;s Football League has been launched.&nbsp; It was a fantastic first game against St Thomas&#39;.&nbsp; Mrs Banks who is leading the team was impressed by all the children who worked incredibly hard and showed great team work skills.&nbsp; A great outcome of 3-1.&nbsp; Well done!</p>, 09 Oct 2017 16:31:20 GMTA Community Harvest Celebration<p>The Harvest Community Event was very well attended by our retired parishioners who enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment. The Key Stage 2 children were in fine voice and gave a rendition of some of their favourite songs. There was a range of suberb solos performances.&nbsp; Our visitors enjoyed some delicious refreshments served and provided by parents of the school. The Year 6 and some St Bede&#39;s pupils joined our guests to play a fun game of bingo.&nbsp; A wonderful afternoon! During the CAFOD Harvest Day tomorrow we encourage families in our community to donate using&nbsp;the envelope given at Church on Sunday.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>, 05 Oct 2017 09:51:34 GMTWell done Joel - Photography Competition Winner!<p>Joel Crilly has won the school&#39;s photography competition.&nbsp; The focus of the competition- as part of our whole school project- was God&#39;s Beautiful Creation.&nbsp; This photograph titled &#39;Lytham Hall Butterfly&#39; impressed with its professionalism and quality.&nbsp;&nbsp;Joel has really captured the beauty of the butterfly which sits perfectly in the centre of the shot displaying its stunning colours and patterns.&nbsp; A huge well done is also sent to all the wonderful entries - the standard was very high and judging incredibly difficult.&nbsp; All the photographs are displayed in the school front entrance.&nbsp;</p>, 04 Oct 2017 11:00:50 GMTWinners of Lytham in Bloom -Best Primary School Garden<p>It was a very exciting evening at the Lytham in Bloom Awards on Thursday this week.&nbsp; St Peter&#39;s was awarded the highest prize for a Primary School Garden which was a fantastic achievement considering the quality of the other entrants.&nbsp; A huge amount of thanks goes to our committed pupils who helped to tend to the gardens - even during the holidays!- and met with the judges in July.&nbsp; They were obviously very impressed with what they saw and heard.&nbsp; More thanks goes to Mrs Shakespeare, Mrs Bould and Katy for helping to maintain the standard of our gardens, allottment and woods&nbsp;- we really appreciate all of your hard work and efforts over this and the many years St Peter&#39;s has supported this great community event.&nbsp;</p>, 29 Sep 2017 12:53:39 GMTMacmillan Coffee Morning<p>A huge thank you goes to our wonderful pupils in Y6 who organised (with the support of parents and Mrs Amphlett) the Macmillan Coffee morning on Friday 29th September.&nbsp; The event was really well supported both by the amount of fantastic cakes received and people coming along. A cake sale for the children followed.&nbsp; We will let you know how much was raised when the final count is in.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>, 29 Sep 2017 12:45:07 GMTWelcome to the Mayor!<p>The Mayor came to visit the children at St Peter&#39;s this week.&nbsp; During a special assembly he talked about his role and how he works, alongside the councilliors, to ensure that the Fylde Council makes good decisions for our area. The children asked some very good questions.&nbsp; At the end of the assembly he presented the school with a commemorative plaque - the coat of arms of the Fylde Council.&nbsp; We thank him for his time.</p>, 29 Sep 2017 12:41:24 GMTStart of Year School Mass<p>Our start of year school Mass was held at St Peter&#39;s Church. &nbsp;A huge thank you to the chidren who led the sevice including the readers and altar servers. &nbsp;It was a great opporutnity for us to all pray together as a community. &nbsp;The children sang a new hymn they have been learning with Mrs Banks - Laudauto Si- which filled the Church. A wonderful way to show our thanks to God for his beautiful creation. Thank you to the parents who supported in walking the children back to school. &nbsp;</p>, 21 Sep 2017 13:58:28 GMTYear 6 Trip to Castlerigg<p>The children of Year 6 have really enjoyed their retreat to Castlerigg. &nbsp;It was a great way for the class to start their final year and to get to &nbsp;know more about each other and Mrs Kelly and Mrs Amplett. The weather was mixed but didn&#39;t dampen spirits and all the children fully engaged in the activities on offer. &nbsp;A huge thank you is sent to the staff at Castlerigg for making us so welcome and of course to Mrs Kelly, Mrs Amplett and Mrs Strachan. &nbsp;The children will be sharing a presentation in school to share their work on British Values with the rest of the school.&nbsp;</p>, 18 Sep 2017 10:42:59 GMTWelcome to our new Reception children<p>It has been wonderful to welcome and meet our new Reception children this week. &nbsp;They look so smart and grown-up in their school uniforms. &nbsp;They have settled in well and are&nbsp;enjoying using the newly refurbished classroom. &nbsp;The new outdoor canopy is due to be installed in the next couple of weeks. &nbsp;</p> <p>{gallery:New Reception Class a big Hello!}</p>, 11 Sep 2017 17:38:34 GMTWelcome Back!<p>It has been a great start to our new school year. The children were very excited to share all their news and eager to get started in their new classes. We have welcomed 7 new children to the school this week and look forward to our new Reception class starting on Monday 11th September. &nbsp;The re-fit work on the new Reception classroom is nearly complete and a new canopy will be fitted to the outdoor space in a couple of weeks. The classroom is looking great!&nbsp;</p> <p>Our whole school theme this half term is &#39;Our beautiful World.&#39; &nbsp;There will be a photo competition and the children will be reflecting on the value of our world and our responsibilies to look after it.&nbsp;</p> <p>Miss Murgatroyd has returned safely from her trip to Neema School in Kenya and will be leading an assembly to share her experiences with the children.&nbsp;</p> <p>Please check the school calendar for key dates for the Autumn Term. &nbsp;The after school activity clubs will re-commence over the next two weeks and information will be sent out shortly.&nbsp;</p> <p>We wish Year 6 a fantastic time at Castlerigg this week!</p>, 05 Sep 2017 14:18:34 GMTThe new head boy and girl and deputy head boy and girl<p>This week, Year 5 have voted for next years head boy and girl and deputy head boy and girl.
