What a scorcher! We have managed to carry on this week despite the unusually high temperatures.

On Monday we sought coolness in the wood as we read our books and observed our class tree (now wilting due to the lack of rain and heat).

This week we harvested our potatoes and cook cooked them for us to eat. They were delicious and didn't last long!

The danceathon for the NSPCC took place on Wednesday and we enjoyed getting up and dancing to our favourite music. Please remember to send in donations on Monday. (They will be collected on Tuesday).

Miss Cartwright put us through our paces on Thursday and we were glad of shade and drinks breaks. Please make water bottles are brought into school as they are in almost constant use!

We have completed our heats for the poetry competition. Mrs Smith has been delighted because each and everyone of us has performed a poem by heart! The semi finalists were announced and some children received a commendation for their effort and determination.

Today is St Peter's and St Paul's Day.This week we have been remembering what we know about St Peter and suggesting why Jesus chose him for such an important job. Good thinking! Today we were treated to a lolly at break time and later, on a more serious note, we celebrated Mass with Fr David.
